Chris and Catherine’s wedding day couldn’t be more perfect. A bright sunny day in the middle of July – you couldn’t ask for better weather for the outdoor ceremony. It took place under the pergola at Kirkland House, a beautiful Edwardian farmhouse built in 1911.

Chris & Catherine met at the University of Alberta and realized very quickly that they were soul mates. Just like Princess Jasmine and Aladdin.  Princess Jasmine and Aladdin? Yes, Princess Jasmine and Aladdin from the Disney movie Aladdin. A Whole New World, the theme song of Chris and Catherine’s relationship. So it was only appropriate that the bride and groom re-enact the movie theme song as their grand entrance as husband and wife. Coincidentally both are great singers so it was only appropriate that they sing their way into the reception serenading their very surprised guests.

Following a delicious feast and some very entertaining and heartfelt speeches, the bride, groom and their guests hit the dance floor for some much needed crazy dancing! Following a couple of hours of shaking it up on the dance floor, the couple said their good-byes and headed off on their honeymoon on a starry night under a stunning canopy of sparklers held by their family and friends.

The bride walked down the stone path on the arm of her father toward a very anxious groom waiting at the altar. Following a short sermon from the reverend, the groom’s uncle, the groom pulled out his guitar and proceeded to serenade Catherine with a song written especially for her titled The Same Line. One of the many romantic gestures between the bride and groom that day.

Following the emotional and touching ceremony, the bridal party mingled with their family and guests on the lawns, sipping lemonade and enjoying a few summer snacks before departing for photos and the wedding reception.

The group moved on to the reception site for the wedding photos and a few minutes to celebrate before joining the wedding guests. The Glenbrook Park Amenities Centre provided a beautiful garden setting for the wedding photographs and reception.
